Prices are from the US and UK App Store and each developer's own site, checked on 3 November 2026. “Per developer” means the claim is the developer's own and we have not tested it. “Not stated” means we could not find it. Prices change, so check the App Store before you buy. The label column shows the “Data Used to Track You” section of each app's App Store privacy label, which is filled in by the developer.

Private flashcard app with no account: how to check one yourself

  1. Open it without signing up. If the first screen asks for an email or an Apple, Google or Facebook login, it needs an account.
  2. Read the App Privacy section on the App Store page. “Data Used to Track You” means the developer says data is used to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
  3. Turn on Airplane Mode and study a deck. An offline app keeps working.

Quizlet privacy alternative

Quizlet's App Store label lists purchases, location, user content, search history, identifiers and usage data under “Data Used to Track You”. None of the five apps above lists anything there. If you are moving cards across, sumi imports a .txt file with a tab between front and back and one card per line, as well as CSV, JSON and Anki .apkg. Flashy says it accepts text pasted from Quizlet's export screen.

The trade-off: no account usually means no sync

Without an account there is nowhere for your cards to sync through. In sumi there is no sync between devices, and backup is a manual export. Flashy copies your decks to your own iCloud. Mochi and Flashcards World sync once you sign in. If you study on a phone and a laptop every day, that may matter more than skipping the sign-up.

No account, no tracking. Free to try, then $9.99 (£9.99) once.
